Seasons

News and Announcements

Team,

Summer swim season registration is now open! Click to register HERE

Practices will start Monday, April 29. Practice schedule looks a bit different this season than before since we have a lot of high schoolers and some college students joining us. We created a new level for them, level 3 (open to incoming HS freshmen and older swimmers only). The other two levels have the same criteria as before.

Schedule is as follows:
Level 1 – Monday through Thursday 5:00-6:00 pm
Level 2 – Monday through Thursday 6:00-7:30 pm
Level 3 – Monday through Thursday 7:30-9:00pm

We are adding Fridays practices for level 2 and level 3 only – times to be announced.

Please use the same level as swimmers were in past season, unless you received a separate email from us advising they can move up a level.

If there are any siblings who have not swim with us in the past, they MUST attend tryouts to determine if they are ready to join the competitive swim club or need to stay in swim lessons and what level they would be in. Tryouts are taking place April 24th and 25th 6:00 – 6:30pm. Sign up attached HERE

Meet schedule is attached HERE. Save the meet and championship dates in the calendar. SGSC is hosting AA Divisional this season and possibly All Star, more details to come after league meeting on May 6

Splash in the Grove is coming back for the second edition of June 2, this invitational will count towards attending 1 meet for Divisional purposes when planning your summer. Parents also save the date in your calendars, we will need lots of help running this meet and that will count towards your volunteer requirements as well.

Parents meeting to be determined, more details will follow as we approach the beginning of season.

Lastly, new this season – coach Brian is now a USA swimming certified coach. What that means is that he can now take swimmers that are registered with USA swimming to USA swimming meets (outside regular SGSC swim meets schedule – additional fees are involved). There is a question on the registration asking if you are interested in getting more details on this subject. We will gladly give more details to those interested.

If any questions, email the club directly at sgswimclub@gmail.com

As some of you may know, Peggy Kile who was SGSC head coach for many years until she retired in 2017, is going through a liver transplant in Pittsburgh. Surgery took place on Monday and went fairly well but she still needs a lot of machines and medications to keep her organs working.

The recovery will be long, her husband is staying in Pittsburgh all this time. If any of you wants to send them well wishes, here is the address where to send:

Family House

Please keep her and her family in your prayers!!

SGSC end of season banquet

Posted by Spring Grove Swim Club at Feb 5, 2024 6:57PM PST

Team,

Great weekend of swimming! Thank you to all the volunteers who made yesterday’s championship possible! We’ve had quite a few challenges but we managed to work through them and we raised a record amount of money from all the years we’ve been hosting All Star, great teamwork!!!

See attached everyone on the team’s times from the season. please share with the kids so they have records of the times they swam this season and how they progressed.

Also included is the RSVP to the end of the season banquet. It will take place on Sunday, February 11, 2024 from 1-3 pm in the SGHS Cafeteria. All swimmers and their immediate family are invited to attend, please let us know a total number of people attending so we can plan food accordingly (given the size of the club, please limit to the swimmer’s parents and siblings only). When you arrived, please check your name at entrance to cafeteria. There is no cost for swimmers or families, donations are welcome.

CLICK HERE to RSVP by Wednesday, 2/7/2024 at 12pm. I have to give the count for food to Genova’s at that time.

End of season gifts, Divisional and All Star awards are going to be given as well as top 3 from our 1650 fundraiser are going to be announced. Stay tuned for details about summer season!

Looking forward celebrating with you!
