All swimmers will be sitting on the pool deck for the meet. Our team will have the space behind the diving board end of the pool. SWIMMERS MUST HAVE FOOTWEAR TO LEAVE THE POOL DECK AREA.

No food is permitted on the balcony or on the pool deck. Food should be consumed in the pool lobby/cafeteria area.

All spectators should go to the balcony to watch the swim meet. ONLY meet volunteers, swimmers, and coaches on the pool deck.

We have some last minute volunteer cancellations due to illness.  Please see the sign-up sheet to cover those spots.

Thank you!

Team,

Please see attached entries for this Saturday’s away meet at Dover. Let us know of any conflicts as soon as possible.

We still need 2 Lineup parents, CLICK HERE to signup and help our/your swimmers get ready for their events! Including this meet, there are only 3 meets left to fulfill your volunteer requirements before the Divisional.

Speaking of Divisional, CLICK HERE for the online t-shirt store for Divisional, hosted by Bobcat on 2/3/2024. Store closes on 1/14/24, there will be very few shirts for sale on the day of event so place your orders online.

Another reminder, the Coed Relay meet on Sunday, 1/14 has very few swimmers signed up. This is fun, pretty fast meet that the kids love every year! We need to know who’s coming as relays will take a little more time than usual since there are mixed relays. Every relay in that meet will be different thatn the ones swam usually at dual meets. There is no cost for swimmers, SGSC pays all entries. SIGNUP HERE

Lastly, as the last updated calendar showed, no practice today due to HS meet. See attached another copy of the calenday for your reference as we will have quite a few days this month with no practice.

Team,

I hope everyone is enjoying their Christmas break! Here are some upcoming reminders for after the break…

Away meet 1/6/2024 SGSC at Dover
Volunteers signup sheet is available HERE. If you already fulfilled the minimum required 3 spots this season, please do not sign up until the week of the meet to give a chance to the families that did not meet the requirements yet to sign up. Then the week of the meet, all available spots are up for grabs to anyone.

1650 Challenge Fundraiser – 1/7/2024
SGSC is excited to once again challenge your swimmer in the 1650, otherwise known as the “swimmer’s mile”. This challenge is two-fold. We challenge our swimmers to swim 66 laps each year and allow them to see their growth year to year. It also helps raise funds for our club. We will start heats of 6 swimmers starting at 09:00am and run as many as needed. Each swimmer will swim 66 laps or 45 minutes total time. We also ask that you raise funds through sponsors. The sponsor form is attached. If possible, please have a counter available for your swimmer. Usually these are parents, grandparents, older siblings or friends. SIGNUP sheet is HERE

Away meet 1/13/2024 SGSC at Bobcat (rescheduled from 12/2/2023)
Volunteers signup sheet HERE

2024 Co-ed Relays Invitational at Seahorse 1/14/2024
This is a FUN invitational that the club pays all the fees for. It consists of relays only, all relays are mixed. The kids have so much fun swimming it.

Sign up your swimmer HERE if they’re available, and then the coaches will determine the relays. Please remember that if any changes in the availability are needed for an, let us know ASAP. Since these are all relays, it is VERY important to know exactly who we can count on. When the entries are prepared and one swimmer does not show up that day, 3 other swimmers are affected and won’t be able to swim. This is extremely disappointing for the kids. We understand last minute cancellation do happen but if we know ahead of time or at least the day before, changes can be made before the swimmers know their events.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Happy New Year!

No practice today! and other reminders

Posted by Spring Grove Swim Club at Dec 21, 2023 10:34AM PST

Team,

No practice tonight due to HS meet! Please check the calendar for December that was sent in the beginning of the month, we had swimmers show up on deck during the high school meet last week. If any level 2 swimmers are interested in timing today, we are short 2 timers, please have them come on deck no later than 4:15pm, meet starts at 4:30pm.

Next week we are holding practices on December 27th and December 28th, ALL AGES PRACTICE 6:30pm – 8:00pm… again, ALL AGES, starting at 6:30pm, not 5:30pm!

After Christmas break, we are starting January with our 1650 Fundraiser…. what is that you ask? Swimmers are attempting (and succeeding!) to swim 66 laps (1650 yards, also known as the swimmer’s mile) and in return, family, friends, neighbors pledge money either per mile or as a donation. This fundraiser will help cover the costs of two scholarships we award each year to two Spring Grove HS seniors that were affiliated with the swim club. Also, top 3 fundraising swimmers will receive awards for raising the most money for the club.

See attached pledge form – just in time for the holidays when the kids are meeting family members to ask for pledges :)

Signup sheet to pick a spot when to swim the 1650 can be found HERE. We reserve the right to combine some of the slots into earlier ones to fill up the lanes; we will contact you if that will happen.

We wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!
