Team,

Just a quick email to acknowledge a new pledge for the 1650 that was misplaced when I gathered all the envelopes. Jamie Laucks raised a total of $578 which puts him in top place fundraiser. Congrats Jamie!! Please get in touch with the club to collect your gift cards.

SGSC end of season banquet

Posted by Spring Grove Swim Club at Feb 5, 2024 6:57PM PST

Team,

Great weekend of swimming! Thank you to all the volunteers who made yesterday’s championship possible! We’ve had quite a few challenges but we managed to work through them and we raised a record amount of money from all the years we’ve been hosting All Star, great teamwork!!!

See attached everyone on the team’s times from the season. please share with the kids so they have records of the times they swam this season and how they progressed.

Also included is the RSVP to the end of the season banquet. It will take place on Sunday, February 11, 2024 from 1-3 pm in the SGHS Cafeteria. All swimmers and their immediate family are invited to attend, please let us know a total number of people attending so we can plan food accordingly (given the size of the club, please limit to the swimmer’s parents and siblings only). When you arrived, please check your name at entrance to cafeteria. There is no cost for swimmers or families, donations are welcome.

CLICK HERE to RSVP by Wednesday, 2/7/2024 at 12pm. I have to give the count for food to Genova’s at that time.

End of season gifts, Divisional and All Star awards are going to be given as well as top 3 from our 1650 fundraiser are going to be announced. Stay tuned for details about summer season!

Looking forward celebrating with you!

This weekend's championships info!!!

Posted by Spring Grove Swim Club at Feb 2, 2024 4:04PM PST

I hope everyone is ready for a full weekend of swimming cause it’s here!!! This is all the info that you need:

Colonial Division Championship – hosted by Bobcat Swim Club
Location: 300 High Street, Manchester, PA 17345
Report time: 08:05 am
Our warm up times: 8:15 – 8:40 am

Meet timeline and psych sheets are on the league’s website https://swimfcsl.weebly.com/

Our relays are changing from what was originally sent, we had a scratch due to illness and coach Brian is redoing them as we speak.

Our swimmers are going to sit in the gym – bring chairs, blankets, games, books and a good attitude; no food in the gym and chairs need to be on towels, there will be a concession stand in operation. Admission is $5 per adult, children 12 and under, swimmers, coaches and volunteers are free.

Admission is free for volunteers, those of you that signed up, thank you – your names will be at the door when you check in.

Qualifying for All Star on Sunday are top 6 individuals and top 6 relays across the two Divisionals (not top 6 from each Divisional) – which makes All Star a pretty fast meet with just one heat of each event… just an FYI for our volunteers, we’re not going to be at the pool all day Sunday!

SUNDAY ALL-STAR INFO – AT SPRING GROVE HIGH SCHOOL

Qualifying results will be available in the afternoon on Saturday, after both Divisionals will conclude. Please check your email Saturday to see if your swimmer has made the All Star team (top 6 from the two Divisionals combined). Some of our relays have a good chance to make it, please plan accordingly because 3 other swimmers will be affected by a no show – I can’t stress this enough!!

If your swimmer has qualified, but is unable to swim in Sunday’s meet due to illness, please let Coach Brian know IMMEDIATELY by emailing the club!! Other swimmers will have a chance to advance.

Swimmers report time: 7:10 am
SGSC warm up 7:20 – 7:40 am

GO TO THE GYM for check in – DO NOT GO TO THE POOL!!

Swimmers will be utilizing the lockers rooms that are located at the back entrance of the gym that leads into the pool hallway

Please check in with coaches upon arrival

Concession stand will be available in the pool balcony where we normally have it

Admissions (if your name is not on the Volunteer List) $5.00

Meet Start time: 09:00 am

As previously announced, due to the flood on Tuesday we had to make some changes in order to be able to still host the meet. There are still areas that are in process of being dried off and the gym is one of them, plus the pool lobby is still closed. I would REALLY appreciate if everyone can take the time to read this carefully to make sure we understand the changes and comply:

- Teams will sit in the gym, BUT THERE CANNOT BE ANY CHAIRS ON THE FLOOR (there are still fans in there drying the floor); an entire wall of bleachers will be open and teams can use those to sit; the overflow of parents can use the large cafeteria across from the gym; they can also set up chairs in the lobby, in between the cafeteria and auditorium (I don’t want them in the lobby in front of the gym and towards the pool since that’s where we’re walking swimmers to the pool)

- Swimmers will be seeded in the gym area; then they will walk to the pool through the main doors of the gym, through the main lobby and enter the pool through the classroom (shallow end of pool, where coaches hospitality is) – DRY Swimmers

- After they swim their events, they will exit the pool through the boys locker room (close to the classroom where they entered), across the closed pool lobby into the girls gym locker room that goes into the gym – WET swimmers

Volunteers report as follows:

Volunteers do not pay admission – please check your name on the list at the admission tables when you enter the building then proceed to the Volunteer/Coaches Check In table by the entrance to the gym and grab your lanyards

Coaches/Volunteers Check In 7:10 am
Gym Announcer 8:00 am
Pool Announcers 8:00 am
Gym Line up 8:00 am
Pool deck lineup 8:45 am

2nd half Volunteers
If you are a timer please be in the building for the timers meeting at 8:45am

Volunteers will be switched after the completion of the backstroke events, event 32

Both meets will be on Meet Mobile (Divisional is already there with heat sheets and lane assignments).

For those of you that signed up to help Saturday after Divisional, we plan on meeting right after Divisional ends. We will grab some pizzas and get things done as quickly as possible to enjoy the rest of the night.

Let’s have a great end of the season with a lot of personal best times and great swimming!!
