Seasons

News and Announcements

Team,

As we are approaching the end of winter season, here are some important forms we need you to fill out:

Divisional Championship entry form selection – due by 1/25/2024

Select 2 individual events your swimmer would like to swim in Divisional, relays will be created by coaches (all requirements were detailed in a previous email last week, please reference that if you have any questions).

Please pay attention when you answer the question whether they are able to attend All Star on 2/4, as relays will be created based on swimmers availability to swim both days. If they move forward to All Star, we need to make sure we have all 4 swimmers advancing available.

Divisional form is HERE

End of season banquet – due by 2/7/2024

Banquet will be held on 2/11/2024 1-3pm, in the SGHS cafeteria – pizza, subs, salad will be served. Swimmers and their immediate family (parents and siblings only), are invited to attend at no cost. We will accept donations to cover some of the costs. Divisional and All Star awards ceremony, 1650 acknowledgements and music by request.

RSVP form HERE

This Saturday meet TAC & HY @ SGSC:
Swimmer report time: 7:00 AM
SGSC warmup: 7:10-7:35 AM
Meet Start Time: 8:30 AM

It is essential that all swimmers remain seated on deck with the team. We ask that they do not sit with spectators during the meet as we will be unable to locate them for line-ups. Swimmers may not stay in the stands with their families or they risk missing their events.

Please notify the Club if a swimmer is unable to attend the meet on Saturday. The earlier the notice, the better, as relays will likely need to be modified. Swimmers also need to stay until the end of the meet unless cleared with Coach Brian or Coach Thelred. Even if their events are finished, they may still be needed for a last-minute change to the lineup. The team also needs to assist with cleaning the deck before leaving.

Please also be aware that those who signed up to volunteer in the concession stand for first half of the meet must report by 7:15 to help with preparations.

We are still in need of a LOT of volunteers. Please grab a spot so the meet can start on time on Saturday, all spots are available! to all parents! Whoever does not have met their volunteer requirements had plenty of time to sign up. Thank you to all the families that helped this season!! CLICK HERE

Food donations are still needed – CLICK HERE. Please bring white/blue Gatorade and Coke/root beer ONLY if you have not donated yet beverages.

A last reminder, today is the last day of regular practices for all swimmers. Next week and the following, only Divisional swimmers are attending practices.

Let us know if you have any questions.

One more detail...

Posted by Spring Grove Swim Club at Jan 14, 2024 11:45AM PST

I forgot to mention one more thing that might help you decide whether to swim Divisional or not…

Since the meet on 1/20 is the last meet that ends the regular season, practices after this date will be open ONLY to swimmers that will swim in DIVISIONAL. For the rest of the swimmers, regular season will end on Saturday and we will see you at the end of season banquet on 2/11/2024 in the HS cafeteria 1-3 pm (more details for follow).

Updated Volunteers Spreadsheet

Posted by Spring Grove Swim Club at Jan 14, 2024 11:07AM PST

Team,

Please see attached the updated volunteers spreadsheet after this weekend’s meet. Next Saturday, 1/20 is the last meet you can volunteer for, IF your swimmers are planning to swim in the Divisional championship on 2/3/2024.

For those of you with 0 spots, you have to sign up for 3 spots (can be any family member – grandparents, uncles, aunts, older siblings (HS age) etc); those of you with 1 spots fulfilled, have to sign up for 2 spots in the upcoming meet and lastly, those with 2 spots fulfilled, you have to take 1 spot in Saturday’s meet.

IF your swimmers do not plan on swimming Divisional, the only requirement you have to look for, is that they swam (or plan to swim) in at least one meet if they would like to register for the team next season.

Our last meet will be a double dual meet which means for purposes of swimmers eligibility for Divisional, it will count as attending 2 meets.

Volunteer signups are HERE. I removed the parents who already helped this season (for those of you that got an email that your spot is cancelled), in order to free up the spots for those that need to help out. If there are still spots available on THURSDAY EVENING prior to the meet, go for it!! Those spots are then open to all.

The positions that require training (Colorado Operator, Meet Manager and the Officials) do not have to wait till Thursday to sign up. We only have a handful of parents trained, so please sign up if you’re available regardless how many times you helped this season. We need you! :)

Food donations for Saturday’s meet can be found HERE
All Star volunteers signup is available as well HERE No need to wait and sign up for that one either, it is open to anyone!! This is a big event for our club, good revenue coming in from it!! It will help with end of season banquet, gifts that your swimmers will enjoy!!

Championships online t-shirt stores:

  • Divisional store CLOSES TONIGHT AT MIDNIGHT!!! CLICK HERE
  • All Star store closes 1/28/24 CLICK HERE

I apologize if this email sounds repetitive; we have 19 families that are still in need to volunteer at the last meet; I am trying to avoid parents being upset if their swimmer will not be able to swim in Divisional because of that.
