Updated Volunteers Spreadsheet

Posted by Spring Grove Swim Club at Jan 14, 2024 11:07AM PST

Team,

Please see attached the updated volunteers spreadsheet after this weekend’s meet. Next Saturday, 1/20 is the last meet you can volunteer for, IF your swimmers are planning to swim in the Divisional championship on 2/3/2024.

For those of you with 0 spots, you have to sign up for 3 spots (can be any family member – grandparents, uncles, aunts, older siblings (HS age) etc); those of you with 1 spots fulfilled, have to sign up for 2 spots in the upcoming meet and lastly, those with 2 spots fulfilled, you have to take 1 spot in Saturday’s meet.

IF your swimmers do not plan on swimming Divisional, the only requirement you have to look for, is that they swam (or plan to swim) in at least one meet if they would like to register for the team next season.

Our last meet will be a double dual meet which means for purposes of swimmers eligibility for Divisional, it will count as attending 2 meets.

Volunteer signups are HERE. I removed the parents who already helped this season (for those of you that got an email that your spot is cancelled), in order to free up the spots for those that need to help out. If there are still spots available on THURSDAY EVENING prior to the meet, go for it!! Those spots are then open to all.

The positions that require training (Colorado Operator, Meet Manager and the Officials) do not have to wait till Thursday to sign up. We only have a handful of parents trained, so please sign up if you’re available regardless how many times you helped this season. We need you! :)

Food donations for Saturday’s meet can be found HERE
All Star volunteers signup is available as well HERE No need to wait and sign up for that one either, it is open to anyone!! This is a big event for our club, good revenue coming in from it!! It will help with end of season banquet, gifts that your swimmers will enjoy!!

Championships online t-shirt stores:

  • Divisional store CLOSES TONIGHT AT MIDNIGHT!!! CLICK HERE
  • All Star store closes 1/28/24 CLICK HERE

I apologize if this email sounds repetitive; we have 19 families that are still in need to volunteer at the last meet; I am trying to avoid parents being upset if their swimmer will not be able to swim in Divisional because of that.

Team,

As we are entering our last month of regular season, we are approaching end of season Championships – the Divisional on 2/3/2024 and then the qualifiers move up to All Star on 2/4/2024.

For those families new to swimming, here are some FAQs regarding those:

  • Should my swimmer(s) compete in Divisionals? Yes! If your swimmer(s) swam in 3 or more dual meets this season AND your family volunteered for 3 spots during regular meets, your swimmers are eligible and should swim in Divisionals.
  • What events should my child swim? Your child can choose whichever 2 individual events they want. The coaches will put together the relays once they have a complete list of swimmers attending Divisionals. If you would like a list of the top 25 times for the league this year to help your child decide, click the following link. Top 25 – FCSL
  • What if my child is not listed in the Top 25 for any of his/her events? That is OK! This is about the experience and the kids getting to have fun, swim 2 events they choose, and try to improve their time.
  • Where do I sign up for Divisionals? a Google doc form will be emailed in the next couple of days
  • When is my Divisional Entry Form Due? It is due by the end of the day, Sunday, January 21st
  • What happens after Divisionals? All Stars on Sunday, February 4th. The top 6 relays and individual swimmers across 2 Divisional meets will swim in All Stars. IMPORTANT NOTE: Teams can have more than 1 relay qualify for All Stars in each event.
  • What if I marked “no” on the meet commitment form and my child now will attend? Just fill out the Google form when it will be emailed to club with your child’s events they want to swim and then send an email to sgswimclub@gmail.com letting us know your child is swimming. Please also let us know if your child is able to swim at All-Stars when you send this email.

A new change this season that was announced at the beginning, at parents meeting and a couple of emails since then, is that parents need to volunteer a minimum of 3 spots in order for swimmers to be able to swim in Divisional.

Please see attached two reports – one has the number of meets your swimmers attended up to today this season. The second is the spreadsheet with the number of volunteer spots each family helped out this season.

IF YOUR SWIMMER PLANS TO SWIM IN DIVISIONAL, please check to see that they swam at least 3 meets AND that you volunteered at least 3 spots during regular meets (not including championships; coaches are excluded from this requirement).

IF THESE TWO THINGS ARE NOT TRUE AS OF TODAY, there are two more meets left in the regular season for them to have a chance to fulfill the minimum of 3 meets swam. The meet from 1/20 will count for the swimmers attending as swimming in 2 meets since it’s a double dual meet (3 teams are swimming).

The volunteers signup for the 1/20 meet was released today as well. The report I am attaching shows in a highlighted color the families that did not fulfill the minimum number of volunteer spots. If your swimmer wants to swim in the Divisional, please make sure you grab the remaining number of spots you need to meet the minimum 3.

I removed from the 1/13 meet the families that have enough spots helped, in order for the rest of the families to have an opportunity to meet that number. IF BY THURSDAY EVENING at 8pm the week of each meet, there are still spots empty, please grab them again at that time as we need all positions filled in order to run the meet.

Volunteers signups, as always can be found HERE

Lastly, the eligibility report for swimmers shows a couple of them that did not swim at all this season. At the beginning of the season, it was announced as well that, since we are a competitive swimming club, there is at least one meet attendance requirement. Not attending at least one meet during this season, will impact the eligibility for registering in future seasons.

Hope this helps, more info will follow as we approach championships. If you have any questions at all, please email the club directly at sgswimclub@gmail.com
